SwitchGames.com, The Gamers Marketplace, is the largest peer-to-peer marketplace dedicated to videogame trading, buying, and selling.  Part social network, part e-commerce, SwitchGames intelligently connects members and automates the process for fast, easy, and safe transactions.  SwitchGames.com empowers members to take control of the secondary game market by providing a platform that removes the middleman and delivers a suite of services that give gamers the best possible value for games.

From the founder:

After years of getting terrible trade-in values for my barely used games and experiencing unfair and often confusing value/point systems at retail, I finally got fed up with the whole "middleman" thing.  As an obvious alternative, I began trading my used games with my friends for free.  To make trading easier for my group, I created a simple online database that showed what everybody owned and what everyone wanted.  It didn't take long to realize that it would be cool to open up the database and give access to people outside of our circle.  I did just that and launched the very first version of SwitchGames.com in late 2002 - the first site of its kind.

For the next several years, with no commercial intent, I kept SwitchGames as a hobby, letting complete strangers trade with each other for free (trading is still free today).  Over the years, I kept a constant and open dialog with users, listening to what everyone wanted from SwitchGames.  Through word of mouth, the site was was eventually bursting at the seams and needed to be expanded to meet user demand. Once new video games hit the $60 mark, I knew it was time to get busy with SwitchGames 2.0.  My vision was a comprehensive and powerful peer to peer web application that would also be insanely easy to use.  I set out to blend community, commerce, new technology, and highly automated systems to make buying, selling, and trading easier than ever before.

After an incredible effort from a team of talented engineers, designers, artists, and my business partner Kai, our shared vision was finally realized with the official re-birth of SwitchGames.com in January of 2009.
